Having dominated the eReader market for a number of years, new reports have once again suggested Amazon is to launch a colour version of its hugely successful Kindle device.
Tipped to launch in the second half of this year to capitalise on pre-Christmas shopping rush, new reports have suggested the device will line up alongside the existing touch and 3G models with construction to begin later this month.
Having entered the tablet market late last year with the budget, 7-inch Android running Amazon Kindle Fire, Amazon is now tipped to transport its colour touchscreen display experience to its Kindle branded eReaders to further enhance the user experience.
According to unnamed sources “Amazon’s new color e-book readers will be built with multi-touch capacitive touch panels instead of infrared touch panels used in the previous mono-color e-book readers.”
Are you a fan of Amazon’s hit Kindle eReaders? Would the availability of a colour display option further tempt you into splashing out on a new Kindle? Let us know via the Australian T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds.
